Game History
- Private Playtest - 0.1.14 - 05/2025 - I started an invite-only playtest on our discord to test the game and get feedback. The world was much smaller, with no NPCs yet.
- Full Development Begins - 01/2025 - as Aground Zero winded down close to the launch, I began full production, slowly switching over to Witherspring Wilds
- Pre-production - 06/2023 - brought Matt (our pixel artist) on board and began pre-production. I was still personally focused on Aground Zero, but was excited to prepare Witherspring as our next big project.
- Early prototype - 05/2023 - Using Aground Zero as a codebase, I made a quick and dirty prototype/proof of concept with placeholders. At this point, I was starting to seriously consider Witherspring as our next big project.
- Design Document - 02/2022 - Like most new ideas, I wrote it down in a design document in case I ever wanted to make it. I wasn't seriously considering making the game at this time, but I kept coming back to the design and adding more ideas to the document.
